Jamie Batten, Head of Hockey, expresses his delight: “I am delighted that 23 Eltham hockey players have been chosen to represent the London and Kent Counties this season. This is nearly double the number of students representing the region last year, which demonstrates how hockey is flourishing at Eltham College. It showcases the depth of our programme and our students’ passion for the game, and I am excited to continue to witness our students’ development.”
Marc Edwards, Director of Sport, shares, “It is an exciting time for both boys’ and girls’ hockey at Eltham College as we continue to invest heavily in coaching and facilities. Julian Halls, our Hockey Professional (ex-Great Britain and England competing at two Olympic Games), and Jamie Batten, our new Head of Hockey (current Oxted 1st XI captain who plays in the Men’s National Premier League), are integral to this progress. I hope to see the number of girls and boys involved in performance pathway teams continue to increase in numbers of the following years as the programme at Eltham College grows in stature. I wish all the very best to those who have been selected and good luck in their upcoming tournaments.”
Congratulations to our talented hockey players. We are immensely proud of you.
