Eltham College students have once again demonstrated their mathematical talent and problem-solving skills in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge, achieving an impressive 189 certificates out of 220 entries.
The UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge is a 60-minute multiple-choice competition designed for students in Years 9, 10, and 11, encouraging mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in problem-solving. The top 50% of participants nationally receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in the ratio 1:2:3, making these achievements even more impressive.
This year, our students secured:
– 56 Gold
– 71 Silver
– 62 Bronze
Beyond these fantastic results, 36 students have qualified for the prestigious Kangaroo competition, and we are thrilled that two students have progressed to the Olympiad, an incredible achievement at this level. A special congratulations to our top scorers across the year groups:
