Three Junior School chess teams have successfully progressed to the next stage of the National Primary Schools Chess Championship following strong performances at the zonal stage. Both the Under 9 and Under 11 A teams secured first place in their respective sections, demonstrating impressive skill and strategic play throughout the competition.
The event provided a great opportunity for our pupils to test their abilities against teams from other schools, with all players showing focus, determination, and teamwork.
A special mention goes to Kitty from Year 6, who, despite not competing in the tournament, took the initiative to set up a tuck shop for all the competing teams and their families – an excellent example of enterprise in action.
Well done to all involved, and we look forward to seeing how the teams perform in the next stage of the championship.
